![]() ONENOTE 2016 DOWNLOAD FOR WINDOWS 10 FOR WINDOWS 10They said a while back that they will let users have both OneNote 2016 and OneNote Windows 10, and that they would develop them both somewhat, but it really just feels like they lack the conviction to really improve it - their conviction is enough to make small enhancements, but again, they won't let it eat into the limelight of Word or Excel.Beginning with the launch of Office 2019 later this year, OneNote for Windows 10 will replace OneNote 2016 as the default OneNote experience for both Office 365 and Office 2019. (At the very least, this is how they have always treated OneNote since it debuted in 2012. I think they will make small enhancements to it, slowly, over time, but always being careful to ensure that it never steals too much limelight from their favourite boys, Word and Excel. (And I really don't like the functionality of competing apps like Evernote - they also feel as if you are writing with crayons.)Īnd I'm not convinced Microsoft is genuinely interested in developing it properly. I used to use OneNote quite a bit, because I loved the organisation, but these days I've gone back to Word and Excel because OneNote's functionality is like writing with crayons. And it seems that Microsoft, as is tradition, is preventing this app, OneNote, from becoming too upskilled - probably because they don't want it to take any attention away from MS Word and MS Excel. It's basically just a compilation of an extremely watered down version of MS Word, and an extremely watered down version of MS Excel. ![]() There are far too many basic things that you just can't do in it - for example, the tables have almost zero functionality and you cannot print your notes out as a pdf, or even just to paper, because the formatting comes out all fucked up no matter how you adjust things. I have a mac, so I've never used OneNote for Windows 10, but imo, OneNote 2016 was on the right trajectory towards being an awesome app, but is also unfinished. Microsoft claims OneNote 10 will be the future OneNote, so why couldn't they fucking WAIT TO FINISH THE APP INSTEAD OF RELEASING A LITERALLY UNFINISHED APP? You LITERALLY CAN'T EXPORT UNLESS YOU PRINT AS A PDF, which 95% of people would only figure out by googling it.īut forget everything else, why is there not a file menu? You need a command center to manage other tasks and it's quite unclear to me why this and the media/sharing issues I mentioned above even exist. MOST OF US ARE STUDENTS (I'm about to begin my fall semester a computer science student and this app is major key for note taking). Exporting files as mentioned above is a pain. You can't insert more than one image in to the note at a time. ![]() ![]() Sharing media is a pain and feature-poor. ONENOTE 2016 DOWNLOAD FOR WINDOWS 10 PDFWhat the fuck? This is like a car without a dashboard or steering wheel Without the file menu you can't save, export as A PDF or word doc (critical fucking function?!?!). But for the actual functionality, it's just not a good app. There's so many damn missing BASIC/ESSENTIAL features and just other components missing.įor basic note-taking, OneNote is great and very smooth, and still is perfect for unstructured notes (put in a textbox or image anywhere - pure brainstorming canvas). ![]() It's almost as if it was completely unfinished and the developer team was rushed to release it 75% into production. Seriously, Win10's OneNote is A REALLY LACKING APP. ![]()
